Barcelona, 09 February 2016 – Mobile applications helping you save time and money are just one of the trends that we’ll be seeing February 22 at the tenth edition of the Mobile Premier Awards (MPAs). 16 competing apps from 12 cities ranging from the United States to India will be showing how their app plans to change the future face of mobile gaming, business, health and education.
We’ve Glovo (Barcelona), a service connecting customers with independent couriers for a range of urban services, Mercadoni (Bogota) an application to purchase and receive groceries in less than an hour or Munchery (San Francisco), which specializes in delivering high-quality home cooked food, a fresh approach on the take-out culture.
The theme of citizen cooperation is also strongly represented within sectors such as education, sports and energy. These are represented by Sharing Academy (Barcelona), with which university students share their knowledge via peer-to-peer mentoring; goFlow (San Francisco) a social sports app to find the best places to practice based on the recommendations of the community. And Virtual Energy Advisor (Barcelona), an interface to improve energy efficiency and with which users can share tips for saving money and energy concerns.
Apps for professionals are always needed and the MPAs will see them with applications built for musicians like Museai (Oslo); apps to improve the management of retail such as VergePOS App (Lagos) and others like Guidecentral (New York) which helps manufacturers and DIY enthusiasts to monetize their business and their work.
Health apps will also be represented thanks to Mimi Hearing (Berlin), an application that personalizes your sound on any smartphone for increased audio performance. Elsewhere education is given a helping hand with apps like Schooltivity (Madrid) an innovative platform to manage day care centres and improve communication between them and parents.
Naturally such a huge industry as gaming apps needs representation, Italy’s Last Lie brings the entertainment factor with its console quality thrilling third-person shooter while Signtist (Bangalore) gives your brain a workout testing your speed and skills.
There will be the opportunity to enhance the travel experience with App in the Air (San Francisco) a personal flight assistant giving important updates in real time. Fashion will be represented by Combyne (London), an app that inspires the user to create trendy looks quickly and easily and share them with like minded fashionistas and blogs . And finally, in the field of security will be RedBird (Caracas), an app for locating and managing mobile devices without the need for wifi/ internet connection.

In addition to these talented apps, the MPAs will celebrate its tenth anniversary with a keynote from Cristina Segal, Director EMEA at Intel Corporation, and talks from the following speakers : Ali Parr, Director of International Partnership for Twitter, Stephanie Peterson, Head of Marketing and Strategic Communications at Runtastic, Jesse Gillette, Senior Director of Pandora and lastly Martin Bryant, Editor at The Next Web. Together they offer a complete view for the development of an app, the best advice for growth and insight into promotional opportunities with marketing and communication tools .
