Barcelona, February 3, 2016 – The Mobile Premier Awards (MPA) will once more play host to one of the essential events taking place during the Mobile World Congress. From San Francisco to Bangalore, a total of 16 applications will display the latest advances being developed in mobile applications in such diverse places as Nigeria, Norway, the United States and Colombia.
All 16 will compete on the afternoon of February 22 at the Sala Apolo in Barcelona for one of three coveted titles: Best App Award, for the best overall application, the Best Audience Award as voted for by the public and the Big impact Award, going to the app with the most promise to impact the lives of people on a day-to-day basis.
Here are the finalists:
Schooltivity (Valencia) an app for Android, iOS and HTML5, is a platform for managing schools and to keep families informed of school life of their children’s activities.
Glover (Barcelona) is an app for Android and iOS with which users can place orders and errands. The ‘Glovers’ carry out the order within a maximum time of 60 minutes.
Virtual Energy Advisor (Barcelona) this app for Android, iOS and HTML5 is a virtual consultant to improve energy efficiency and share experiences to save money and energy with others.
Sharing Academy (Barcelona), an app that works as a peer-to-peer market where university students share knowledge and learn from colleagues with privately organised lessons.
App in the Air (San Francisco) for Android, iOS and Windows Phone, is a flight attendant who keeps the user abreast of the details of your flight in real time.
Munchery (San Francisco), this Android app is a quality food delivery service that allows users to order dishes prepared by locally sourced professional chefs.
Go Flow (San Francisco), developed for Android and iOS, this app allows you to find the best places to practice outdoors sports including surfing.
VergePOS App (Lagos) is an Android app designed to enhance retail management as it helps to identify critical points and recommended measures.
Signtist (Bangalore), this Android app is a game that challenges the speed and skills of your brain while serving to improve spelling and vocabulary.
Combyne (London), app for iOS, inspires the user to create trendy looks quickly and easily with a selection of current trends of more than 500 designers.
Mercadoni (Bogotá), is an application for Android and iOS for shopping at the supermarket and receiving it in less than an hour thanks to its network of ‘personal shoppers’.
Museai (Oslo) is an app for musicians that allows creative professionals to record ideas, structuring, add tracks and share them with band mates in moments.
Guidecentral (New York), for Android and iOS, this app is a fun way for manufacturers and DIY fans to create, share and explore craft projects.
RedBird (Caracas), an Android app for locating and managing mobile devices without the need for wifi.
Mimi Hearing Test (Berlin), this iOS app turns any smartphone into a hearing aid to improve the daily lives of people with reduced hearing.
Last Lie (Italy), is a console quality game app for Android and iOS in which the world is on the brink of global destruction and the user chooses how to tackle missions.
The Mobile Premier Awards 2016 celebrates its tenth anniversary with a gala inspired by Hollywood and film to pay homage to the mobile industry and especially apps, which have staged one of the biggest social changes of recent decades. In 2015 apps became the largest distribution channel of content and services, surpassing in size the film and video games industries.
The MPAs are ready to celebrate 10 years of life with a great evening that is sponsored by Intel and Twitter; with The Huffington Post as a media partner and support by Myworkup during the gala.
